Sandwich chain closes Fayetteville store after nearly a decade in business

The Fayetteville outpost of a national sandwich chain recently closed.

On Wednesday, a handwritten sign on the door of the Which Wich Superior Sandwiches in the Marketfair Mall shopping center stated that the restaurant had closed its doors for good.

Located at 1916 Skibo Road since 2015, the former Fayetteville location is no longer listed on the Which Wich website and the franchise’s phone number and email were disconnected Wednesday.

Which Wich sells customizable sandwiches where customers mark their preferred sandwich along with the bread, cheese, spreads and toppings options on a pre-printed menu on a paper bag. An employee takes the bag and returns it to the customer with the order inside.

There are 20 North Carolina locations in Raleigh, Durham, Morrisville, Knightdale, Wake Forest, Rocky Mount, Salisbury, Tarboro, Concord, Matthews, Jacksonville, Huntersville, Charlotte, Cape Carteret, Asheville and Cullowhee.
