Missing 4-year-old boy from Morrisville found after triggering Amber Alert, police say

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Police have found a missing boy who officers said they believed was abducted on Friday afternoon by three suspects, including the boy’s mother.

The agency had entered the case to be considered for a statewide Amber Alert by 7:20 p.m. and the official Amber Alert followed at 8:34 p.m. asking the public to keep eyes out for a 2017 Blue Nissan Maxima with plate #: LCN-3940. Officials say the vehicle was expected to be heading to the Fayetteville area.

The NC Center for Missing Persons identified the boy as Brandis Tyrone Smith Jr., a 4-year-old who they described as standing three feet, six inches tall and weighing 40 pounds. He was not wearing shoes at the time of the abduction and is in black shorts and a black shirt with “Daddy’s Boy” on it.

The boy’s mother, Deneshia Williams; her boyfriend, Jontae Purdie; and an unknown male are the suspects in the abduction, according to Morrisville police.

Police say they responded to Bloom Road at 2:21 p.m. for the reported assault and child abduction. They learned Purdie and the unknown male assaulted the boy’s father and that Williams pointed a handgun at the father as well.
