If you’re a fan of hard cider, you’ll want to visit James Creek Cider House in Cameron, North Carolina, recently named one of the best cideries in the country.
USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards ranked it No. 4 overall, the only North Carolina cidery on the list. Known for using more than 60 apple varieties grown in its orchard, James Creek offers a range of ciders, from traditional dry styles to fruit-infused options.
Founded by Ann Marie and David Thornton, the cidery launched in 2016, crafting estate-grown hard ciders from Southern heirloom apples.

Their ciders are produced naturally, without added sugar, highlighting the distinctive flavors of the apples. Favorites include Summer Gold, Whippoorwill, and Harvest Moon.
Visitors can enjoy cider tastings in a dog and kid-friendly cider garden, or find their products at local farmers’ markets and bottle shops. Seasonal Stargazer Ciders, like the Beehive Ginger, have also gained national acclaim.
