In wake of adult website allegations, Mark Robinson to host meet and greet in Fayetteville

In the wake of a “salacious” report by CNN this week that alleges he authored troubling posts on adult websites, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson will be at the Fayetteville Motor Speedway on Saturday for a meet and greet “as part of his campaign engagement,” a Cumberland County campaign representative confirmed Friday night.

Robinson is on the November ballot as the Republican nominee in the race for North Carolina governor. His challenger is Democratic candidate Josh Stein, who is currently the state’s attorney general.

Robinson’s appearance at the Fayetteville Motor Speedway coincides with the Carlton Lamm Memorial Race event Saturday.

Shamike Bethea, Cumberland County chair of the Mark Robinson for Governor campaign and president of the Cumberland County Republican Women’s Club, said in a statement Friday evening that the meet and greet is open to the public and tickets can be purchased at the event door. General admissions tickets for the race are $25.

Despite confirmation of the event from Robinson’s camp, a representative at the Speedway’s box office Friday night told The Fayetteville Observer that officials there were not aware Robinson would be at Saturday’s event.
