One person killed and another wounded in second deadly shooting Saturday in Fayetteville

For the second time in the city on Saturday, one person was killed and another wounded in a shooting.

The latest homicide happened about 11 p.m. behind Anna Chestnutt Middle School in the 700 block of Edgehill Road, the Fayetteville Police Department said.

According to police, one person was pronounced dead at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and the other was listed in fair condition. Their names were not released.

“Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating this homicide and request anyone with information or video contact detectives or Crimestoppers,” a news release said.
