EMERALD ISLE – On Tuesday, it was all about fire and water safety, as nearly 30 White Oak Elementary School kindergartners were treated to important hands-on lessons at the Emerald Isle Fire Department as part of National Fire Prevention Week, which is Oct. 6-12. The EI Fire Department presents a unique program each year, which features five fire and water safety stations within the building. Teaching stations included tours of the firehouse, fire trucks and a paramedic vehicle, and lessons about water safety.
