Erik Hawks has two back-to-back performances in his home county this weekend.
The Richmond County native, now living in Fayetteville, will be performing with the Hard Luck Band for the 2024 finale of Hamlet’s Boxcar Concert Series Friday night, as well as on Saturday for the Seaboard Festival.
A graduate of Richmond Senior High School, Hawks was named Male Performer of the Year in the 2024 Carolina Country Music Awards. He had also been nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Single of the Year for his tune “End of My Rope.”
Hawks has recorded and released several other original songs including “Notebooks,” which references Bear Branch Road, and “Tracing Your Tattoos.”
While he regularly performs solo gigs at Hudson Brothers Deli in Rockingham, Hawks has had several performances with the full band in Richmond County the past two years, including SpringFest and the open house at Rockingham Speedway.
Hawks and the Hard Luck Band will be playing on the stage set up on Main Street in front of the Hamlet Depot for both Friday (6-8 p..m.) and Saturday (noon-1 p.m.).
