DUNN – Neal Elliott Davis, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, after courageously and stubbornly battling Parkinson’s Disease for 11 years. Born in Wilson County on May 15, 1941, to the late Hardy P. and Nell Christine Davis, Neal was the typical first-born child – responsible, a leader and self-reliant. He believed in working hard, thoughtful decision-making, and spending money wisely. He retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation Construction Division after 30 years of service and still has the check stubs to prove it. He was a devoted member of the Sudan Shriners and past president of the Dunn Shrine Club, as well as a member of the Palmyra Lodge 147 of Dunn and Dunn Chapter 59 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
