Ex-substitute teacher charged with indecent liberties with student in North Carolina

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A former middle school substitute teacher in Fayetteville has been charged with indecent liberties, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

Police said on Oct. 27, detectives arrested 31-year-old Brandon Cromartie. The charge stems from an incident that occurred last year when he was a substitute teacher at Luther Nick Jeralds Middle School.

Evidence recently brought to light initiated the investigation, according to police.

Cromartie was charged with one felony count of indecent liberties with a student and given a $25,000 secured bond.

He has since posted bond and has been released from the Cumberland County Detention Center.
