680 cartons of unstamped cigarettes seized in Dauphin County traffic stop

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– 680 cartons of unstamped cigarettes were seized from a North Carolina man’s vehicle in Dauphin County on Nov. 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

PSP says troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2024 Jeep on I-83 in Dauphin County at 12:48 a.m. on Nov. 1. A search warrant was obtained, leading to the seizure of 680 cartons of unstamped cigarettes and marijuana, per PSP.

Charges have been filed against Nader Muharam, 40, of Raeford, North Carolina.

According to pa.gov , Pennsylvanians may possess up to one carton of cigarettes that do not bear Pennsylvania Cigarette tax stamps.

Additionally, A person or retailer possessing unstamped cigarettes could face criminal charges, depending on the quantity of unstamped cartons.
