The city of Fayetteville’s annual loose leaf collection service is set to begin Monday to allow residents to dispose of fallen leaves, according to Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation’s website .
Residents can also bag their leaves for weekly collection on their regular yard debris day, which helps prevent storm drain clogs.
During leaf season, Fayetteville residents can pick up free trash bags at recreation centers and fire stations. Brown roll-out carts for weekly yard waste collection are available for $60, according to the Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation website , and can be delivered by the city for a $25 fee or picked up for free from the Solid Waste Department at 455 Grove St. The website said that to ensure timely pickup, residents should rake leaves curbside by the scheduled date, avoiding any additional items like tree limbs.
Open burning, including leaf burning, is prohibited in Fayetteville. For questions, call 910-433-1532 or 910-433-1329.
