FORT LIBERTY — Fort Liberty welcomed a new garrison command sergeant major late last month, a Fort Liberty spokeswoman said Wednesday.
The change of responsibility ceremony between outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Gregory Seymour and new Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel Scott was Oct. 25 in the Main Post Chapel, said April Olsen, a Fort Liberty spokeswoman.
Seymour had been in the spot since February 2023 . On Monday, he announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he will serve as the new senior enlisted leader for the 82nd Airborne Division Artillery, also at Fort Liberty.

Scott is no stranger to Fort Liberty, most recently serving as the senior enlisted leader for the 1st Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.
As garrison command sergeant major, he will serve as the senior enlisted adviser for garrison commander Col. Chad Mixon , deputy garrison commander Kevin Griess and the post’s directorates to support the installation’s day-to-day operations.
