What is on your Fayetteville and Cumberland County bucket list?

When relatives, friends or business associates visit you here in Fayetteville, what are your go-to places to take them, where you expect our community to put its best foot forward?

As we head into 2025, we asked Fayetteville Observer readers what activities visitors must do, the shops they must visit, the food they must try, the sights they must see?

We received dozens of responses. A lot of folks had plenty to say about the city’s food scene, which I believe is personally underrated and under-sold. But others offered an array of other activities the city offers.

Below is a sample of the responses.

A stroll in downtown Fayetteville

Larry Clubine, who lived in the city for 32 years and visited from out of town last fall, recommended dinner and a stroll downtown, as well as experiences that include the Cameo Art House theater, the city’s theater showing independent films; the Fayetteville Woodpeckers minor league baseball team; the N.C. Airborne  & Special Operations Museum, all located on Hay Street downtown. He mentioned taking in sports at Fayetteville State University, too.
