One airlifted, one hospitalized after Vass crash
Emergency crews responded to a serious crash Monday morning in Vass after a vehicle veered off the road, went down an embankment, and struck a tree.
According to Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, the crash happened at the intersection of Vass-Carthage Road and Dogwood Avenue, where responders found one patient pinned and another entrapped inside the vehicle.
CPFR said in a Facebook post, the pinned patient was extricated first and quickly transported to a helicopter landing zone established nearby. They were airlifted to a trauma center. Due to the condition of the second patient, medical crews made the decision to treat her in place before attempting to remove her from the vehicle.
