Charges pending after turkey-filled tractor-trailer, pickup crash in Cumberland County

GRAY’S CREEK, N.C. (WBTV) – A man was seriously injured in an eastern North Carolina crash involving a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer hauling turkeys.

The crash was reported shortly after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, at North Carolina Highway 87 and Sandy Hill Road in Gray’s Creek, close to Fayetteville.

According to troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailer was headed south on Highway 87 and coming to the intersection of Sandy Hill Road when a pickup headed east on Sandy Hill Road started turning left onto 87.
