BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell Athletics staple Stan Cole, now the Associate Athletics Director for Community and Alumni Engagement, has been chosen as a national winner for the Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest, recently announced by the College Sports Communicators.
Cole, a 37-year veteran of the Fighting Camels’ athletics department and 1987 Campbell graduate, claimed the top story in the “Social Justice/Diversity” designation of the University Division of the contest for his feature on CU track & field standout Destiny Bailey-Perkins, a monthly segment of the Fighting Camel Club Women’s Empowerment Spotlight from September 2024.
“There are countless stories to share of Campbell athletes, coaches staff and alumni,” said Cole. “I’m grateful to each who are willing to share their journey with me, and ultimately our readers. I am so thankful that our Athletics Director Hannah Bazemore has provided me with the opportunity to share these stories, whether it is through the written or spoken word. I appreciate the honors I’ve received from the College Sports Communicators, but honestly, I’m just the conduit for the stories that these people have shared through me.”…
