Cumberland Community Foundation now accepting grant applications for field-of-interest awards

Cumberland Community Foundation is accepting grant applications for funding from field-of-interest endowments established by local donors:

  • Children – programs that improve the quality of life for children with priority for programs that seek to reduce child hunger.
  • Education – programs that increase educational outcomes with priority for programs
  • that increase children’s access to art and educational enrichment activities.
  • Global Awareness – programs that prepare youth for the challenges and opportunities provided by global interconnectedness so that they can be competitive in this global economy.
  • Women & Girls – programs that improve the life circumstances of women and girls through long-term, transformative change.
  • Youth – programs that improve the quality of life for youth, specifically in regards to leadership or mental health.

Cumberland Community Foundation awards grants from its discretionary funds quarterly. Nonprofits that are 501(c)3 public charities based in Cumberland County, NC may apply. Applicants must be in good standing with the Secretary of State of NC, current with all IRS filings and in compliance with all reporting to Cumberland Community Foundation on any past grants.

“These endowment funds were created by local individuals and families who want to help others,” said Kendra Murray, Community Grants Manager in a press release. “We are fortunate that many of Cumberland Community Foundation’s donor funds are broadly defined and allow us to receive applications to support the best ideas each year.”

The application deadline is July 31st at 11:59 p.m.
