A rising North Carolina-based metal band with roots in Fayetteville has come a long way from its humble beginnings in a high school student’s bedroom.
Started in 2019 by Dylan Cathey, 22, and Luke Farris, 22, the band Crooked Cult was born out of a shared love for metal and skateboarding — and a whiteboard covered in potential band names.
“We wrote down probably 20 different names,” Cathey said June 25. “Out of all of them, ‘Crooked Cult’ just had the best ring to it.”…
