Fayetteville’s Gino’s Steak & Onion Closes with Wedding Bash

Gino’s Steak & Onion, a beloved sandwich shop in Fayetteville is closing its doors for good today (July 14). The shop, known for its unique cheesesteaks and vibrant social media presence, is hosting a special event to mark its final day in business. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the owner, Josh Amidon, and his longtime partner, Joe, will celebrate their wedding at the shop, offering free food and drinks until supplies run out.

The closure of Gino’s is not due to economic issues or declining sales. Instead, it stems from a lease dispute. Amidon explained that despite early rent payments and compliance with maintenance hikes, the landlord chose not to renew their lease just three days before it expired. Amidon suspects another business made a more appealing offer.

The shop, located in Fayetteville Square, has been a local favorite for five years, known for its creative sandwiches like the “Barbie”-inspired cheesesteak with pink sauce.
