A driver was trapped in her vehicle after a collision in Southern Pines on Thursday afternoon. The two-vehicle collision, which occurred at the intersection of Midland Road and Knoll Road, sent one driver to the hospital and temporarily shut down the roadway.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. and involved a Volvo SUV and a Lexus sedan. Troopers confirmed the incident was a T-bone collision, but no further details were released due to the cause still being under investigation.
The driver of the Lexus was trapped inside the vehicle following the impact. Southern Pines firefighters used specialized equipment to remove the door and safely extricate the woman from the car.
She was transported by Moore County EMS to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in stable condition…
