Fayetteville man pleads guilty to voluntary manslaughter in 2023 killing

A Fayetteville man pleaded guilty July 15 to the fatal shooting of a man in the driveway of a Kienast Drive home in 2023.

Jermaine Tyrone Cartrette, 39, pleaded guilty to charges of voluntary manslaughter, larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon in the May 2, 2023, killing of Terence Malcolm Malik Hogue, 30, of Fayetteville. Cartrette was sentenced from 13 years, three months to 17 years, eight months in prison, court records show.
