Red Springs police officer resigns after arrest on drug charges in Lumberton

LUMBERTON, N.C. (WPDE) — A Red Springs police officer has resigned after she was arrested for drug charges.

The Red Springs Police Department confirmed that Dinisha Barfield, who was hired in November 2024, was employed as a Police Officer until July 25, 2025 when Barfield tendered her immediate resignation from the agency, according to Red Springs Interim Police Chief Justin Hewett.
