Fairmont bar shooting leads to arrest of security guard, 2 others, authorities say

FAIRMONT, N.C. (WBTW) — A shooting earlier this month at a Fairmont bar has led to the arrest of a security guard as well as two others involved with the lounge, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement said.

Jhaves Gilliam, 33, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon of mass destruction, 13 counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, three counts of possessing a stolen firearm, performing armed security services without a registration or permit, and simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Gilliam was involved in the July 6 shooting at the 11 Eleven Lounge while providing security services for the bar, ALE said. During the initial investigation, Gilliam is accused of giving a false name that was linked to his security company, and it was later found that neither Gilliam nor his company were registered through the state Department of Public Safety Private Protective Services as an armed security company, which is required by law…
