Parkton man facing kidnapping, assault charges following July shooting, authorities say

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — A Parkton man is being held without bond for his role in a violent encounter last month, Robeson County authorities said.

Ashen J. Garcia Jr., 24, of Parkton, is facing charges of indecent liberties with a child, statutory sex offense with a child, crimes against nature, second-degree kidnapping, contributing to the delinquency of a child and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Deputies responded to the 4000 block of North Carolina Highway 83 just after 6 a.m. on July 31, where a person was shot and sustained non life-threatening injuries…
