Maj. Johnathan Morgan was appointed as sheriff by a unanimous vote of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 11.
“I’m just thankful to the Board of Commissioners and approving the appointment,” Morgan said immediately following the meeting. “I look forward to working with them. I look forward to working with all the community members and I’m just excited for this new role, new chapter of my life and God’s got a path for everybody and this is my path.”
