The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two people were shot and killed and another was injured Tuesday on Kentucky Derby Lane in the Trotter Ridge subdivision near Lillington.
Deputies responded shortly after 5:15 p.m. for a possible assault at the home, which is near the unincorporated Barbecue community.
Deputies arrived and found two people dead inside the home and a third person with a gunshot wound who was rushed to a hospital.
The sheriff’s office said late Tuesday evening that a suspect had been found and taken into custody.
