ROSEBORO — For nearly nine decades, Roseboro’s firefighters have worked out of the same firehouse on East Street, a facility built in 1936 that has long since outlived its capacity. This year, that is changing. A new, state-of-the-art fire department is rising along the edge of town, a project that leaders say will not only transform public safety in Roseboro but also serve as a beacon for growth in the years ahead.
The project, which comes from a partnership between the town of Roseboro, state leaders, and Bobbitt Construction, is well underway despite recent severe rainfall.
“We’ve had 28 inches of rain since we’ve been here, and we’re still on schedule,” said Logan Long, project supervisor with Bobbitt Construction. “All things considered, we’re doing pretty good. We’ve been fortunate to work between the weather, and we’ve made some pretty significant strides to get where we are now. In a couple of weeks, you’ll come back and see all the brick up.”…
