Monkee’s of the Pines has officially moved out of its former home in downtown Southern Pines and reopened just a few doors down, at 162 NW Broad St. The new store has more space to work with, which means expanded inventory, plus seating areas, multiple dressing rooms and more.
Monkees’ was in its former spot for over 20 years. “I feel like I just went through a wedding,” says owner Veronica Lloyd. “I’ve received so many messages and flowers and so much support. I feel very loved.”
Veronica describes the boutique’s look as “White Lotus meets Christian Dior meets LoveShack Fancy – but with a boho twist.” The new location has been in the works since January. Lloyd said many local community and family members helped it all come together.
The floral wall was designed by Holyfield Design and she had custom wallpaper made for behind the register. Veronica’s husband and father built the shelving and the dressing rooms.
“I always had a vision,” said Veronica, “But the way everything came together blew me out of the water.”…
