A Sampson County man accused of kidnapping a 19-month-old child on Wednesday now alleges he’s the child’s father, despite the mother’s claims to the contrary.
Tyler Toodle, 26, of Roseboro was arrested Wednesday afternoon after an Amber Alert was issued from Randolph County. He was captured in Sampson County by Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Toodle is an ex-boyfriend of the child’s mother, Candace Fargis, and now claims to be the legal father of the child. However, Fargis stated that the child was not his biologically or legally. No DNA test has been made to confirm Toodle’s claim as of press time and no evidence of a previous custody battle has been brought to light.
