Deputies probe ‘mass violence’ threat involving Cumberland County high school near Hope Mills

HOPE MILLS, N.C. (WNCN) — Deputies in Cumberland County are investigating a threat of “mass violence” involving a high school near Hope Mills, officials said Tuesday evening.

The “potential threat” involved Gray’s Creek High School, just southeast of Hope Mills, according to a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office news release.

“Our detectives are diligently investigating this matter in cooperation with the school administration. Safety remains our highest priority,” the news release said…
