Authorities identify St. Pauls man found dead in camper after officer-involved shooting in Robeson County; another suspect facing charges

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — Robeson County authorities on Friday identified a man found dead in a camper following an officer-involved shooting in St. Pauls, while also announcing the arrest of another suspect on multiple charges.

Members of a SWAT team found Joshua Caleb Hunt, 25, of St. Pauls, dead after the shooting, which happened at about 1 p.m. in the 400 block of Ice Cream Drive, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said.

“A suspect exited a camper with a rifle and fired multiple rounds at the Investigators and SWAT Operators,” the sheriff’s office said. “Investigators immediately returned fire and the suspect fled back into the camper.”…
