Nonprofit taking over Cameo Art House Theatre in downtown Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A nonprofit formed by a group of Fayetteville citizens has purchased the only theater in city’s downtown.

The Cameo Art House Theatre on Hay Street, a family-owned, independent theater, has been open since 2000. It is now under the ownership of nonprofit Cameo Collective.

“[The Cameo Art House] announced about a year ago they were looking for a buyer for the theater,” Cameo Collective President Gerard Falls said. “That’s when conversations started happening between community members.”…
