Cumberland County in Running For SteelFab $22M Expansion Project Adding 42 Jobs

County officials gave the green light Monday to back SteelFab Inc. with a $363,550 grant. The funds will support a $22 million plant growth plan in Fayetteville, adding 42 jobs.

The plan will grow the current Country Club Drive site, which runs with 58 staff members. New workers will take home $60,000 to $80,000 yearly, hitting an average of $66,700. The project carries the code name “Project Superman.”

“This would develop a 75-acre undeveloped tract, add an additional 42 full-time employees, with an average salary around $66,700,” said Robert Van Geons, president and CEO of the Fayetteville Cumberland County Economic Development Corp, to county commissioners…
