FAYETTEVILLE — The St. Pauls Bulldogs fell Friday night on the road against the Seventy-First Falcons in conference action. The Falcons jumped on the Bulldogs early; the Bulldogs attempted to mount a comeback but fell short as the Falcons took the 34-14 win, handing St. Pauls its first loss of the season.
“We had a couple mishaps in the first half,” Bulldogs head coach Mike Setzer said. “I thought we played extremely well, especially on the defensive side of the ball. I thought we both punched each other in the mouth very well in the first half, second half I was so proud of how my offense and defense came out in the second half and the way we fought.”
The Falcons (5-2, 2-0 Eastern Sandhills Conference) got the on board first when R’maunni Watson found a wide-open Jayson Franklin for a 63-yard touchdown. A two-point conversion made it 8-0 after Watson ran it in. The Bulldogs (6-1, 1-1 ESC) trailed entering the second quarter…
