FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — New details have been released in the crash that killed three high school students in Fayetteville earlier this month.
The crash happened on Oct. 8 just before 7:30 p.m. when a Honda Civic with four occupants struck a utility pole and a tree on Rosehill Road. It resulted in the deaths of the three passengers, 18-year-old Jai’Hyon Elliott, 17-year-old Trevor Merritt, and 17-year-old Nicholas Williams, who were all students and football players at E.E. Smith High School.
Driver dies after Kernersville crash at intersection of Hopkins Road, Bluff School Road
The driver, 21-year-old Dymond Nekiya Monroe, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
