Tragic Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 22-Year-Old in Fayetteville, Authorities Investigating

A fatal collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV yesterday afternoon has left a 22-year-old man dead in Fayetteville, as reported by multiple sources. The accident occurred at the intersection of Gillespie Street and Southern Avenue, sparking an ongoing investigation by local authorities.

According to CBS 17, Trenton Wayne Thompson was riding his motorcycle southbound on Gillespie Street when Hector Elias-Burgos, driving a grey SUV, made a left turn onto Southern Avenue, resulting in a collision with Thompson’s motorcycle. The force of the impact threw Thompson approximately 50 feet from the point of collision. Subsequently, the grey SUV collided with a red SUV, driven by 65-year-old Larry Wayne Barber, who was preparing to turn left.

Emergency Medical Services transported Thompson to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries, as per police statements given to CBS 17.
