Cumberland County Commissioners Recognize Local Interns, Approve New Court Coordinator and Community Proclamations at November Meeting

On November 3, 2025, the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners held a regular meeting at the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The meeting started at 9 a.m. Commissioner Marshall Faircloth led the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. The agenda and supporting documents were posted online for public access.

During the meeting, the Board recognized the fifth group of participants in the Ignite Internship Program. Human Resources Director Dominique Hall introduced the Fall 2025 interns. The group includes students from local colleges and universities. The interns are working in departments such as Human Resources, Emergency Services, Soil & Water Conservation, Board of Elections, Information & Technology Services, Public Library, Tax Administration, and Social Services.

The Board approved the meeting agenda with several additions. These included a closed session for attorney-client privilege and the appointment of Mitchell Johnson at the request of the Pearce’s Mill Firemen’s Relief Fund.
