Trojans Volleyball Team Qualifies for District Tournament After Strong Region 10 Finish

The Trojans volleyball team entered the Region 10 Division II Tournament as the number two seed and finished as the runner-up. This result qualified them for the upcoming District Tournament. The team will next play Pellissippi State Community College, the Region 7 champion, in Knoxville, Tennessee, for a chance to advance to the NJCAA National Tournament.

In the quarterfinals, the Trojans defeated Southwest Virginia 3-0. Kyrie Willis recorded 14 kills, and Sammy Harless had 12 kills. Taylor Detrant set a school record with 28 assists, along with 11 digs and five kills.

In the semifinals, the Trojans played Richard Bland College, a team that had beaten them earlier in the season. After losing the first set 29-31, the Trojans won the next three sets to take the match 3-1. Willis had 18 kills and two blocks. Ella Ferrie and Harless also reached double-digit kills.
