FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Fayetteville City Council and Cumberland County Board of Commissioners agreed that the 911 call centers need to be consolidated. However, they couldn’t agree on whether the county or city should oversee the merged center.
Cumberland County wanted to share the responsibilities and costs with the city. Fayetteville’s current 911 communications director would oversee day-to-day operations.
