LUMBERTON — The Robeson County Board of Elections will meet Tuesday to certify the results of all Nov. 4 elections, with the exception of the Red Springs mayoral race which is currently under protest.
The canvassing had been scheduled for Friday, then for Monday, but was delayed each time due to the Red Springs protest. The board will now meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday for the purpose of voting to certify the rest of the elections that were held in Robeson County on Nov. 4, which included numerous municipal races for mayoral and board positions.
The protest for the Red Springs mayoral election, filed by candidate Duron Burney, will be heard at 9 a.m. Friday. Once the protest is heard, the board will then have the chance to certify that election as well, followed by a possible recount…
