Cumberland County Seeks Firms for New Supportive Housing Projects Benefiting Local Residents

Cumberland County Community Development in Fayetteville, North Carolina, has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for architectural and engineering firms. The RFQ is for two housing projects: Phoenix Place, which will add 10 new single-family, three-bedroom homes for permanent supportive housing, and the redevelopment and expansion of Robins Meadow, a transitional housing campus. The Robins Meadow project will increase the number of units from 12 and upgrade the front office and resource center.

Funding for these projects comes from federal and state sources. This includes HOME-American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Supportive Housing American Rescue Plan (SHARP) funds from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. The projects aim to provide housing and support services for people experiencing homelessness, those at risk, and other groups defined by HUD.
