KINSTON: 19 year old arrested in attempted murder investigation

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers with the Kinston Police Department have made an arrest in an attempted murder investigation from November 21.

On November 21, officers were called to the Circle K on North Heritage Street when reports of a gunshot victim were made. Once officers arrived they found 59 year old Thomas Watson suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to ECU Health for treatment by EMS.

Detectives identified the suspect as 19 year old Kamari Gunter of Fayetteville. Warrants for his arrest were obtained and Gunter was charged with attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, felony conspiracy and discharging a firearm within city limits…
