What began as a routine school assembly turned into an unforgettable holiday surprise for dozens of third-graders at Lucile Souders Elementary School in Fayetteville on Thursday.
Students had gathered in the cafeteria expecting to learn the winners of an essay-writing contest, a tradition at the Fayetteville school. Instead, all 62 third graders learned they would be taking home brand-new bikes and helmets.
