WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cameron Art Museum announced that September Krueger, its Curator of Education and Public Programs, has been named the North Carolina Art Education Association’s Museum Division Art Educator of the Year for 2024–2025.
The statewide award recognizes leadership, service, and advocacy in museum-based arts education. According to the nomination submitted to NCAEA, Krueger was selected for her long-standing commitment to creating accessible, community-focused arts learning experiences for people of all ages, work the museum says aligns with its mission to connect people through creativity, culture, and education.
Her nomination highlighted a wide range of programs, workshops, and educational initiatives that engage learners across the region. That includes outreach partnerships, such as a recent project in which a local artist collaborated with kindergarten through sixth-grade students at a nearby Title I elementary school.
