Two Fayetteville men set to face murder juries this month

Two Fayetteville men are scheduled for first-degree murder trials in Cumberland County Superior Court this month, including one trial for a man charged in two separate Fayetteville homicides in 2022.

Zachary Maurice Richardson, 37, is charged with first-degree murder and robbery in the November 2022 killing of Lowell Nathaniel Anderson, 58, of Fayetteville. The trial is set to begin Dec. 15.

Anderson was killed about 10:45 p.m. Nov. 25, 2022. According to the autopsy investigation, he was at the Crosswinds Green II apartments off Legion Road near Hope Mills, when Richardson allegedly entered through the unlocked door, confronted Anderson and a woman in a bedroom and a fight ensued, ending in the kitchen…
