The Harnett County Department of Social Services will accept applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) starting December 10, 2025. Priority groups include individuals aged 60 and older and disabled persons receiving services from the Division of Aging and Adult Services. All other households may apply from January 1, 2026, through March 31, 2026, or until funds run out. The agency will be closed on January 1, 2026, for the New Year holiday.
Eligible households will have payments sent directly to their heating providers. Households that received LIEAP payments in 2024-2025 may automatically qualify and should have received approval notices in November.
