Harnett County neighbors seek relief from disruptive noise

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. (WNCN) — Noisy neighbors are always a nuisance, and many municipalities like Harnett County have ordinances in place to try to control that noise. Since CBS 17’s initial reporting on this issue in October, we have continued to hear from residents in Harnett County who are growing frustrated with the lack of enforcement of a noise ordinance.

“That’s what’s driving me crazy. I’m miserable because Harnett County won’t do their job,” Angela Crossman moved to Heritage Village in Harnett County with the hope of settling down somewhere quiet. Unfortunately, it’s not what she got.

She described to CBS 17 the noises she often hears, “Loud, booming music from the neighbors. Gunshots. Cars running up and down the road, squealing tires.”…
