RAEFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a rise of scams involving people impersonating deputies.
In a Facebook post made Thursday evening, the sheriff’s office said it has seen an increase in scams involving people posing as sheriff’s deputy and contacting people claiming people owe them money.
“Scammers are not only calling residents, but are now approaching people in person, falsely identifying themselves as deputies and claiming money is owed,” the social post reads…
