DUNN – A short vehicle chase ended in a crash and arrest Thursday evening in Harnett County after a driver attempted to flee from a state trooper.
Just after 5:30 p.m., a trooper attempted to stop a white Honda Accord for a speeding violation. The driver refused to pull over and tried to flee.
During the pursuit, the vehicle turned from Long Branch Road onto Copart Road, a dead-end roadway. The car failed to navigate a sharp curve and struck a guardrail head-on.
The driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran from the scene. Dunn Police officers and K-9 units were requested to assist in the search…
