Convicted felon found guilty of 2024 shootings at Charlotte businesses

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A North Carolina man was found guilty Tuesday on federal gun charges associated with two shootings outside Charlotte businesses.

A jury found 38-year-old Mitchell Clydero Patterson, of Spring Lake, guilty of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, announced Russ Ferguson, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.

According to filed documents, trial evidence and witness testimony, on July 23, 2024, Patterson was found to be involved in an argument in front of a Charlotte-based business. He left the property but soon returned and fired several shots striking a bystander’s vehicle.
